Dr. Salem Awadh


Received his undergraduate degree from Cambridge school in 1968. He was awarded his medical degree from University of Baghdad in 1975 and subsequently awarded a scholarship for further training in Internal Medicne in 1979 at Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary Hospital where he was a Medical Resident. He subsequently completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology. Dr. Salim joined the Gastroenterology Division as a faculty member in one of the government hospital in Abu Dhabi and has rapidly become a nationally recognised expert in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The majority of his responsibilities are caring for patients with Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’e disease. A large number clinical trials and investigator initiated studies are conducted at the Hospital, and he is either the principal or co-investigator on all of them. He has published numerous articles, abstract and book chapters. Currently, Dr. Salim is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), American Gastroenterological Associate Fellow (AGAF)and a member of numerous professional societies.
